The calm before the storm


ショーサンプルの到着を待って、嵐の前の静けさです。
先週から、既にお付き合いのある会社が、2010年春夏の素材をゆっくりとショールームに見せに来てくれています。我々の頭は、すっかりショーを飛び越え次のシーズンです。
静けさの中で、デザインの理念(永遠不在の真理、価値の源)を再度自分に問いかけています。
目的を持つ事がデザインであると言った、Charles Eames

ただ消費を煽るだけの、企業や顧客の為のデザインであってはならない訳です。
そして、デザインは、あくまでも自己追及の表現であるべきだと確信するのですが、人や企業と言う関わり合いを失くしてもデザインは成り立たちません。
受けての方は千差万別であり、共鳴者とどのように関わっていくのかが問われます。
私の経験の何処かが、共鳴者と繋がり、デザインが受け入れられるのだと思っています。
またその共鳴者が見たこと、感じた事のない、挑戦を促し、夢の提案も必要と考えています。

先日、Domus AcademyのCEO Maria Grazia Mazzocchiさんと会食をしました。
彼女は今コミニケーションデザインと言う分野に関心を持っているそうです。
5感を問われるデザイン時代です。(視覚、聴覚、味覚、触覚、臭覚。)
嵐の前に少し頭の整理中です。
The silence before storm – I have been waiting for show samples. The company, which has business relationship with us, came to our showroom and show us 2010 Spring Summer materials. We are thinking about next season already jumping over the fashion show. I have asked myself again about theory of design (the truth that nothing is forever, the source of values) in a quiet environment. Charles Eames says that design has to have objective. Design is not supposed to be stimulating consumption only for the company and customers. Also I am sure that the design is for describing self-pursuit, but design cannot exist without relationship between company and people. People receiving messages are all different so I need to relate with people who agree with my way. I believe that my experiences would touch those people who agree with me, and they would accept my design. It is also necessary for me to challenge and initiate dreams towards something that these people would have otherwise never seen or felt. I’ve had business meal with Ms. Maria Grazia Mazzocchi, CEO of Domus Academy on the other day. She told me that she was interested in the field called Communication Design now. It is the time that human being’s five senses (to see, to taste, to hear, to feel, to smell) are required. I have been re-arranging my mind during this silence before storm.
